I had the same problems and it was 3 sensors gone bad. Map sensor, Throttle position sensor and mass airflow sensor. Have those checked out by a reputable mechanic 1st.
most new cars need brake pedal depressed in order to take the car out of park
The adjustment is on the shift cable that is connected on to the top of the transmission
Into Park or out of Park?
If you do not have your car turned on the vehicle will not shift out of park. You also have to have your foot of your brake.
If your Mercedes won't shift out of park, you might have an issue with the brake sensor or the brake itself. The brake must be fully depressed in order to shift from park to drive or reverse.
why is my 2006 Nissan altima gear shift stuck in park
gear shiftner will not move out of park
It will be demolished, but suggestions are to build a park..
Depress the brake pedal to shift.
its going to be some were on the tranny a small metal rode is going to be connected to the park/shift solenoid and that metal rode runs throw and connects to your shift handle inside the car/truck
Align the shift indicator orreplace it. Your problem is strictly column mechanical.
If your shifter is on the steering column, the problem is probably under the dashboard on the steering column. It is an easy fix. remove the panel under the steering column, and spray silicon lubricant on the shift lever that extends out of the column that the shift cable is attached to. 9 times out of 10 this will be the problem. Or, you could follow the other suggestions or have your transmission replaced. but at some point, you will need to lubricate this linkage to fix the problem.
