- When two people split up in a marriage the children suffer the most. Often they feel guilty and that they are the cause of the break up. Many times the parents are in too much pain from the break up to really take the time out to assure the children that it is not their fault. Some husbands leave their wives or wives leave their husbands and it destroys the family unity. The children are caught up sometimes in choosing sides or perhaps one of the parents is not a suitable and mature parent and the children do not get to see one parent. Children only see mom and dad and nothing in between and cannot thought process what is going on at the time. If the parents have joint custody some children may often play one parent against the other to gain material items and are often out of control because of it (no solid leadership to grow up to be mature; selfless or confident.) Grandparents in the family also suffer because sometimes they may not get to see their grandchildren or, one of the parents may move out of town or go to Another Country altogether.
