To remove the ECM (Engine Control Module) on a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts. Then, locate the ECM, which is typically found under the dashboard or near the passenger side firewall. Unplug the electrical connectors attached to the ECM and unscrew any mounting bolts securing it in place. Finally, carefully pull the ECM out of its housing.

To replace the windshield washer pump in a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire GT, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable for safety. Remove the washer fluid reservoir by unbolting it, then disconnect the hoses and electrical connector from the pump. Replace the old pump with a new one, reconnect the hoses and electrical connector, and reattach the reservoir. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the pump to ensure it's working properly.
