How do you measure circumference of a bottle?

Circumference = 2*pi*r r(radius) * 2 = diameter So. assuming the bottle is fairly a circle, measure across the bottom to get the diameter and then divide that in half for the radius and use the circumference formula. Of course a bottle is not quite a perfect circle everywhere and you might need calculus to get a proper circumference. I am thinking vector calculus.

How do you find the square root of 21?

21 is not a perfect square, and none of its factors (1, 3, 7, 21) are perfect squares either, so √21 is already simplified. The easiest way to compute an approximate value is using a calculator; if you are familiar with calculus, Newton's method works to find an approximation manually. Either way, it is approximately equal to 4.58258.

Where did Isaac Newton discover calculus?

I presume in the notes belonging to the German mathematician Gottfried Liebnitz! First, some aspects of calculus predate Newton (and Liebnitz) by centuries. Aristotle, for example, estimated the value of pi by calculating the perimeters of regular polygons inside and outside a circle. The two perimeters bracketed the circumference of the circle. By increasing the number of sides the perimeters of these he got two convergent series: one from below and one above. Perfect method. Unfortunately he could not continue his calculations beyond a 96 sided polygon. Newton was in Cambridge (UK) when he and Liebnitz, independently published their work of calculus.

Did the Romans consider Cincinnatus a hero?

Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus (519 BC - 430 BC) was a Roman patrician (aristocrat) who had been impoverished by having to pay a huge fine for his son. He had to sell most of his land to pay for this. He then retired to work on the land he had left, which was only a small farm just outside Rome. He was appointed dictator in 458 BC to lead the Roman army against Aequi. He was told this while he was ploughing his land. He defeated the Aequi at the Battle of Mons Algidus. After this, he disbanded his army, resigned, and returned to his plough. His resignation was nothing exceptional. Dictators were supposed to resign when they completed their mandated task. Cincinnatus' leaving the plough and returning to it was mythologised by Roman historians. To them this epitomised the ideals of the Roman aristocracy who liked to see the Romans as frugal, hardy, dutiful and upright farmers. Cincinnatus was seen as a perfect case of service to the greater good, civic virtue, lack of personal ambition, modesty and Roman gravitas and was seen as an indication of the rectitude of the older days as compared to the perceived decadence and corruption of the later days when Roman historians were writing their histories.

Are Apple refurbished laptops in perfect condition?

Many times a refurbished product is returned for reasons other than a defect, but it cannot be sold as a new product. Apple is willing to stand behind their refurbished products with a standard one-year warranty, so even if it's not in perfect condition, you're still getting a good product.
