Energy Band gap value for calcium carbonate and barium carbonate?
Carbonate will increase soil pH value, because it reacts with acid, but sulfate will not affect the pH.
Barium sulphate if found to be insoluble because of its extremely low Ks.p value or its solubilty value compared to barium metal. although it is soluble, the value is so low that it is considered as insoluble.
The formula for barium sulfide is BaS. The gram atomic mass of barium is 137.33 and the gram atomic mass of sulfur is 32.06. Therefore, the mass percent of barium in barium sulfide is 100[137.33/(137.33 + 32.06)] or 81.073 %. (Five significant digits are justified even though the value for sulfur has only four significant digits, because the only use made of the value for sulfur in the calculation is to add it to a number with more significant digits.)
pH depends on concentration. However, the best way to compare bases (and acids) is to use the pKb value; the pKb of barium hydroxide is around -2, which makes it extremely basic.
Yes

For this you have to estimate Loss on Ignition and CaO in the lime stone sample. then from this you can evaluate the calcium carbonate content. Cao X 1.7857 = CaCO3
Marble has value as a building material, a raw material for sculpting and decorative pieces, and as a source of calcium carbonate.

Limestone itself is a building material. The pyramids in Egypt are made of blocks of limestone.Limestone is composed mostly of a chemical called Calcium carbonate. When this is heated, it looses a molecule of CO2 and becomes Calcium oxide. Calcium oxide is known as lime. Lime is one of the main ingredients in cement.Calcium carbonate is basic and increases the pH of either soil or water. Lakes affected by acid rain can be neutralized with the addition of limestone.
A 10% solution of calcium nitrate has a pH of about 6.0. Calcium nitrate is the primary source of water soluble calcium in hydroponics. Prolonged use in other growing media can result in a gradual increase in pH because the negatively charged nitrate ions are taken up faster than the positively charged calcium ions.
I am not a biologist. But I think oyster shells and clam shells and scallop shells are made of calcium and oxygen, which is how (millions of years later) we get the white cliffs of Dover and chalk. If there are vitamins in these shells, I'd be surprised, as I would have expected the former/present tennants to consume them before heading to Dover or anywhere else. Also, if the nutritional value (vitamins) were worth any notice, do you think we'd throw these things away by the truck-load? Yeah. Me neither. (Still, I have no factual basis for this answer... yet.)
why barium sulfate did not dissolve in water

To increase the pH value of the liquid phase in the soil; many crops grow better at higher pH values than are found in some soils.
Barium and sulfur ions both have a charge value of two, but with opposite signs. Barium sulfate is also a neutral species, meaning that the charges are balanced. Thus, the formula is simply BaS.
