There are 2 sensors, 1 for the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and 1 for the temp guage. The one the ECU uses is located next to the thermostat housing on the front of the engine. The one the guage uses is mounted on top of the intake manifold. The guage sensor will not cause any driveability problems, it's only used to send a signal to the instrument panel on the dash.
