your coil pack is defective.OR you have a vacume leak.
The engine computer is the voltage regulator in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
on my 328i I had that problem, and found that the tube that held the oil dipstick was sucking air at it's base where it meets the engine.
I had a 1999 Grand AM same thing happened to me. A while after that i was driving and the radio lost power, then the power steering. I had the alternator and battey replaced and that fixed the problem.

i think that the 1997 dodge grand caravan 3.3 cyts off while driving due to faulty oxygen sensor locates on the manifold before the catalityc converter in upstream if downstream it is located after the catalityc converter if this doesn work for you try also checking fuel pump pressure and filter also may require coils to be replaced

Both the SOHC & DOHC engines are interference engines. If the belt goes while driving the engine most likely will be damaged.
why would a 1997 dodge grand caravan dye while driving when putting the ac on. It does not dye right away. It takes time. Then when it is about to dye it jerks about three times then dies.
