A significant event that the gospels all say occurred after the death of Jesus is that the veil in the Temple was rent from top to bottom. This is disputed by the Jews, who say they have no record of the event. It also seems unlikely that any follower of Jesus would have witnessed the event, when the veil should have been visible only to priests.

Matthew also says that there was an earthquake, graves were opened and many of the bodies arose and walked into the city, where they were seen by many. There is no official record of the earthquake and none of those witnesses seems to have recorded anything of these miracles, even in private correspondence.

Death has been defeated when He took the keys of death from satan. We can go to the Father by the blood of Christ without going to a priest when the temple was split in two with a great earthquake. When He was risen symbolizes being born again. A new creature in Him. He loves you everyone of you. Doesnt matter how bad you think you are. He took the burden of sin on the cross for us that we may find grace and the love of the Father God can complete us in His glory. He made the Earth and stars. There is nothing too bad or big. Everything is a piece if cake. Ask Him for forgiveness of your sins. Repent and sin no more!

The gospels tell us that after Jesus came up out of the water, he heard the voice of God from heaven saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Mark 1:11), then the Holy Spirit alighted on Jesus like a dove. Immediately afterwards, Jesus went into the wilderness for forty days, ministered by angels (Mark 1:13). This precise period was important, because Elijah was also in the wilderness forty days and ministered by an angel (1 Kings 19:5-7). There is no actual suggestion in Mark's Gospel, where the story of Jesus' baptism first appeared, that Jesus fasted for this time, but those familiar with the story of Elijah are likely to have assumed he did do so. This brings into play another allusion, to Moses when (Exodus 34:28) he fasted for 40 days while he wrote the words of the Ten Commandments on tablets. Any misunderstanding of the importance of these events is then resolved by the parallel events of the Transfiguration.

Mark's Gospel was developed around a parallel structure, a literary sequence in which an opening set of events is contrasted with another, parallel set of events that mirrors the first. The baptism, the voice of God from heaven and the forty days in the wilderness (events B, C and D) are linked to the Transfiguration, in which the disciples saw Jesus talking to Elijah and Moses (events B', C' and D') in the following table taken from Mark's framework chiastic structure:

A . John explains the coming of Jesus (Mark 1:1-8)

The first and most important is that He rose from the dead. Second that his body was of flesh and bone, and third that he was seen by many people including the twelve apostles.
