Every time I turn on the TV, I see another advertisement for 4G smart phones. What's the big deal about 4G and how is it different from 3G?

4G is just the next step in cell phone technology standards after 3G. 3G came after 4G. It's the cell phone companys' way of coming out with the bigger and better thing to keep consumers wanting and buying.
