RAM or Random Access Memory is Tempory memory which your computer uses to load programs such as windows or games
Your Hard Drive is an example of permanent memory on your computer where you can save documents/games etc. So when you load up your PC the computer reads the HD and loads up your OS (eg Windows) into your RAM.
