The holy Prophet said that the best of men is the one who is best to his wife.
In his farewell sermon he advised his companions that they had rights over their wives and their wives had rights over them.
In his life he put this into effect by the way he treated his own wives.
When he was married to Hazrat Khadija he always consulted her on everything, and he took her advice for his decisions. And when he married other wives after her sad death he always spent time with them equally.
This shows how fair he was to all his wives
