Hi, Hans heysen was my great, great granddad and my middle name is heysen,
I have only meet one of Hans heysen's children, my great grandma and she died earlier this year at 94 (Deirdre). My grand ma Helen Danmby and she knew her granddad very well (Hans heysen) and her aunty Nora.

Hans Heysen was born into a family of artists. His father, Friedrich Heysen, was a German-born artist who immigrated to Australia and became a successful painter. Hans' mother, Selma Bartels, was also a talented artist and provided him with early artistic training. Hans Heysen went on to become one of Australia's most renowned landscape artists.
