Little know fact: Alfred Russel Wallace simuntaneously produced his theory of evolution, very similar to Darwin's, around the same time as Darwin. Darwin and Wallace agreed in a series of letters that Darwin's theory would be published first and given priority dradit because it was composed first and Wallace didn't want to catch the flax that would ensure from the religious community (Darwin had a much higher standing as a Naturalist and would be given more creedance anyways)
