Did you check the battery? Maybe you left yoru lights on. I don't know if it would be spark plugs but you might want to check that out to. It clicks when you turn the key.....probably the battery or starter. alternator...pretty sure your car won't click or crank with that out. crank, hmmm, like it is trying to start when it's really cold out? You might have something in your gas line. Hope this helps, I'm not an expert but these are some things you can look at.
The old engine sputtered to life as she turned the key in the ignition.
check your timing belt
No of cranks used in 6 cylinder engine
When first start the engine on your ford escape in park, it sputtered and then when warm up it runs ok and then when you driving on the road it jerks going up the hill and lose power. And on flat road it smooth out.
Press the brake ?!?
If the engine cranks & cranks & cranks before it starts even though it's warmed up already.
This is not a good descripton of the problem. Cranks? you mean the starter works? But the engine is not ? Yes, it stalled...and now it acts like it wants to turn over (cranks), but will not start. The starter does work. The engine will not fire up and run. The battery has ample voltage and amperage. Could an "overheating" problem cause this...wouldn't it start up after it cooled down if it overheated? Thanks for the help.
Check engine compression Check engine timing
No, The compression test is done as the starter cranks the engine
going up a very steep bend i stalled
Type your answer here... If the engine is not running after starting; yes, it has stalled.
Engine cranks but doesn't start.
