I recieved a ticket in Jan, 2012. The total with court cost was $454.00 that included a ticket for not having my hunting license on me (They were in my truck about 100yds away). The fine for the license fine was $90 w/court cost. FYI, I had a corn feeder in the field that hasn't had any corn in it since sept 2011. The prick wrote my up for having dust and a few black pieces of corn in the bottom of the feeder. By the way, this was my fist offense.
Most shooters that are killing bears with hounds are shooting their animals at about 20 or 30 feet away, when shooting the bear out of a tree. If shooting a bayed animal it can be 5 feet away. Shooting over bait can be 50 or more feet away. Hunting in the traditional manner, walking thru the woods...will often be measured in yards...100 yards or so. Traditional manner being no hounds, no bait. Each state has their own laws regarding hunting. For example in California it is ILLEGAL to kill a bear using bait.
People who shoot bears over bait (where it's legal) sometimes use .243 caliber rifles. Shooting over bait is close range. People that shoot bears out of trees or by baying them with dogs (hounds) often use handguns, no less than .357 magnum. Each state is different with their hunting laws. In CA baiting is illegal, but dogs are allowed. Hunters that hunt the traditional way, just entering the forests and hunting for bears use .270 and above (.30 caliber rifles such as: 30-30, 30-06, 308, etc.). Those ranges are often 70 to 150 to 200 yards. Those bait/hound shooters are killing their bears at 20 feet! So, check with YOUR laws and equip yourself accordingly.
In most states, all hunting violations are punishable by up to a year in jail plus fine. Any violation is on your criminal record for life. Many believe you should get a fine for out of season hunting. I do because if to many people start doing it then your animals will get extinct. So then you won't be able to hunt at all. Also if they made an exception for you then other people will get mad if they get a fine and you did not for over season hunting.
What can deforestation, pollution, and over hunting can all result in
It depends on the fish. Most fish will prefer a live bait over a dead one so even if you use live bait if there is no wiggle left in it best to change it.
Fly
In some places, the bait is dropped by airplane over the range of the potential rabies carrier. When the animal eats the bait, they also ingest the oral vaccine, thereby protecting them from rabies, and reducing the risk of spread of the disease.
