I just fixed a similar mirror today. On this particular car there are two springs inside that hold the mirror upright. The top one did not appear to be there and we taped the mirror to the car so at least it was functional. If you pry on the mirror glass it will pop off. Inside I found the top spring and a broken piece of plastic to which the spring had been anchored. I removed the mirror from the car, three 10mm nuts hold it on. I spread the mirror and drilled a small hole where the broked part would have been attached and inserted a small screw from the bottom into the newly drilled hole. Stretching the spring takes some doing, but I finally got it on. I snapped on the mirror glass, reinstalled the mirror unit, and everything works fine. Sounds like a lot of work, but it works.
how do you fix security switch on a 2002 oldsmobile alero
need help
By checking fuel injector or the spark plug I had the same misfire on my 2001 alero and now it works grrat.
Need to know what is wrong with the bottom of back seat.
Behind the glove box. Not an easy chore to fix if you're not mechanically inclined.
had the same problem with mine on the passenger side... the mirror was loose from the base?... i used super glue. i beleave that there is a small tab on the inside of the mirror that keeps it snug. they are ment to take a bend or flex incase of someone leaning up against the mirror. instead of it breaking off it flexs and then goes back into place. but mine stayed loose. so i glued it. but it it gets flexed again. the glue will not be to strong to keep it from doing what its sapossed to do.
You will need be able to fix it as you need a machine that can cause a vacuum inside the system. You have to take it to a shop and it will be expensive.
$2200 is what I spent but it was head gasket and intake gaskets.
Check the brake pedal switch. Check the bulbs. Check the grounds.
Begin by removing the inside door panel. Connect the mirror with the mirror retaining bolts. Attach the mirror wiring harness.
it could be your air filter, you might not be pulling enough air into the engine. it usually costs less than 10 to fix
I wouldn't fix it if i was you.....I have a 2000 alero, and the security system (passlock) keeps it from starting often, and it seems to be a big problem with them. So if your security system isn't working but the car is running fine I wouldn't mess with it..
