This obviously depends on the route. I have made the trip at least 10 times via Heathrow. For that trip plan 8 hours flying time to Heathrow, an extended wait (10 to 12 hours) then a flight of 11 more hours to Cape Town. Total travel time is generally 35 hours. 2 hour pre flight arrival at the airport in Vancouver, 8 hour flying time, 12 hour layover in London, 12 hour flight to Cape Town and 1 hour to collect bags and clear customs and Immigration in Cape Town. Other possibilities for routing include Vancouver/Frankfurt/Cape Town; Vancouver/Amsterdam Cape Town and Vancouver/Seattle/Atlanta/Cape Town. Enjoy the fight, it is a monster and a nightmare with kids but Cape Town is worth the effort!
The flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town takes less than 2 hours, if it is an air bus. In case of Jumbo the flight time is increased a little.
On an average it would be 15 - 16 hours. This includes stopping time but not traffic that may be encountered. This is also calculated if you keep to the speed-limit.

Depends on your city, here is a Restriction for Jhb: If you live in the City of Johannesburg you are restricted to two dogs and two cats in a 'dwelling unit' (a flat or townhouse) or four dogs and four cats in any 'dwelling house' (your free-standing home) or six dogs or six cats on an agricultural property. If you have more animals, you'll have to fork out some cash and apply for a permit to keep these 'extra' pets. See reference link below

Lions, Elephants, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo. Otherwise known as the Big Five. Most international tourists try to include a visit to a major game park in their tours. The largest are the Imfolosi-Hluluwe / Mkuze / St Lucia complex in KwaZulu-Natal and the Kruger National Park in Mpumulanga and Limpopo provinces. The Kruger park is big - the core park is about the same size as the country Israel, and it is joined (without fencing) to another park just as large across the international border with Mozambique. Private game ranches adjoining the Kruger park add another 30% to its size. But there are also great urban places - Cape Town and the surrounding wineland are very popular, and mountain resorts, especially in the Drakensberg, and coastal beach holidays at too many places to list here. There are many historic places to visit: * The cradle of humankind (JHB) * Robin Island (CPT) * Constitution Hill (JHB) And museums: * Africa museum (JHB) * Apartheid museum (JHB) * The origins centre (JHB) * more museums nationwide And parks: * Pretoria zoo * Johannesburg zoo * National parks found nationwide And scenery: * Table mountain (CPT) * Drakensberg mountains (KZN) * Transkei (EC) * more scenic areas nationwide And malls: * Sandton city and Nelson Mandela square (JHB) * Gateway mall (DBN) * more nationwide And infrastructure: * Nelson Mandela Bridge (JHB) And culture: * Lesedi village (JHB) * Cultural villages nationwide And theatre: * Market theatre (JHB) * Civic theatre (JHB) And architecture: * Parliament bldng (PTA) * Cape Dutch housing (CPT) * African mud housing (DBN) * Carlton centre (JHB) And fun: * Gold reef city (JHB) * Ushaka marine world (DBN) * Ratanga junction (CPT) And food: * Cape wine (CPT) * African foods (JHB) * Seafood (CPT) & (DBN) And games: * Sibaya casino (DBN) * Sun city casino, resort and golf (JHB) * Monte casino (JHB) * Ceasers palace casino (JHB) or Emporers Palace (five minutes from the airport) * Sun Coast casino (DBN) * Emerald casino (JHB) * more games nationwide And much more... The average direct flight time is 8 and a half hours, depending on where in Saudi Arabia you go to.
It would seem that the Kraft "brain-jockeys" in JHB have assembled in the basement somewhere in a secret locale and decided in their infinite wisdom to discontinue the manufacture of Kraft Mayo in SA. Nobody thought that even if you pull it from production, people may still pay for imports for speciality Kraft products...nothing anywhere in JHB stores either. Since I'm Dutch and everyone must be accompanied by Mayo (The good stuff - not the tangy rubbish) it poses a severe problem towards my personal health and state of well-being.
