Lord Byron, an English poet, died while supporting the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1824. He played a significant role in raising awareness and funds for the Greek cause and is considered a national hero in Greece. Byron's romanticized image and his poetry continue to inspire generations.
