While many people believe that P.S. I Love You was dedicated to his then-girlfriend, Dot Rhone, Paul has denied it, saying that the idea was just that of someone writing a love letter to their boyfriend/girlfriend who was far away.
No. He was married to Linda McCarthy and Heather MIlls, neither of whom was dudelike.
He originally married Linda Eastman in 1969, but after she died of breast cancer in 1998, he married Heather Mills, whom he later divorced. His third (and current) wife is American Nancy Shevell.

Pipes Of PeaceI don't know about Britain or otherwhere, but strictly speaking in a *technical* sense...Paul McCartney has never had a *solo* No.1 hit in North America. If you go strictly by credits on a record label cover, then his first No.1 song outside of the Beatles in 1971 was credited to "Paul McCartney & Linda McCartney"(Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey), after which he performed as part of Wings(or "Paul McCartney & Wings"), with whom his last non-collaborative No.1 single was released under in 1980(Coming Up).From there, he had the two additional No.1's with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, respectively...but like his first No.1 single, he shares credits on both those releases as well.
Not soon enough. However, it has been announced he is working on a piece for the NYC Ballet. The following is from Stuart Bell's "For Whom the Bell Tells...Issue 14" The new ballet is the first time that Paul has written an original orchestral score for dance and will premiere in September. The New York Times broke the story last week and revealed the love story will be called 'Ocean's Kingdom' and have a cast of between 40 and 45. As Paul told us exclusively, the collaboration came about after he met City Ballet's ballet master in chief Peter Martins, who will create the choreography.
For his children.

Paul McCartney's first post-Beatles album was simply titled McCartney, and was released in April 1970. He had worked on songs and recordings on his own, in the months between Abbey Road and remixes on Let It Be, and played all the instruments himself. (New wife Linda sang harmonies.)McCartney issued the album at nearly the same time as both Ringo Starr's first solo album (Sentimental Journey) and Let It Be, and included an interview (with questions drawn up by the Apple Press Office) stating he had no further plans to work with the other Beatles.
