You may have a burnt fuse. Locate fuse panel on driver side kick panel. See owner's manual and look for the brake fuse. Replace with same size fuse. In an emergency, locate a rectangular tab on top of the plastic cover that houses the steering column. Pry this tab off and press on the manual release button while moving the gear selector (2001-2005 w/ steering column gear selector). Be careful when you do this, your brake lights are not operational, and your cruise control will not work either.
