How do you replace the tail gate latch on a Ford f150
glue hatch window latch
I believe that is under the carpet in the cargo area , by the liftgate
you can get to the latch through the grill
Yes.
You could have a sticking door ajar switch. The door ajar switches are inside the doors, mounted on the backside of the door catches. Also on the liftgate. First answer correct; FORD uses strange LATCH coupled sensor switches for door ajar, with TWO wires. Turn on Ign/do not start. Wait 20 sec. Open doors and liftgate / glass in sequence each door open sound sound a tone, the one that does NOT is the trouble ; you can disconnect the door latch connections (2wired) momentarily short the two, open any other door with IGN ON, GEM will reset the condition of Door Ajar, then you can tape up the connection and leave it or pay $$$ for the latch assembly and installation Ford designs have separated Grounds to each return point; good to prevent false returns when connection points corrode Lube in the latch sometimes frees up the sensor switch, but ppl report that this works about 10% of the time by working the latch with a screwdriveras a striker
No , 1996 was the last model year that there was a separate washer fluid reservoir for the liftgate in the Ford Explorer
