The Coalition of Labor Union Women or (CLUW) was founded in Chicago, Illinois in the year 1974 by Olga Madar and Addie Wyatt when they met to discuss creating a new body of AFL-CIO create a more effective voice for women in the labor movement and provide a more neutral ground for women to discuss labor ethics and philosophy upon.
There never has been labor unions just for women. In fact, women have had to fight for the right to work and to be represented by a union.
