Generally in most cases it would be a blocked drain.
When a fridge goes into the defrost cycle the water defrosts and goes down the drain and into the evaporator.
When there is a blockage it overflows and runs out the bottom of your fridge.
Look at the back of the fridge, and you should find a small hole. In some fridges you may need to unscrew a few bits of plastic etc but in most fridges it is visible.
Once you have found this small hole, unblock it with some wire, pour some hot water down it, or any other method you can think of to unblock it.
They do not leak due to the water proof seal that is at the bottom of the door. Now water can still leak only though if people actively splash water frhom inside the tub.
it shouldn't leak water as though its a normal thing get it fixed. but to answer the question, a fridge uses water to cool the area it surrounds, much like how a radiator uses water to heat up the area its sitting in <><><> The supply line to an icemaker can leak, and refrigerators release water from auto defrost into a pan under the fridge. This small amount of water usually evaporates, but if the pan is cracked or missing, will leak onto the floor. A fridge does not use water to cool the area it surrounds- it uses a freon compound to transfer heat from inside to the outside.
There is a drain point at the back of your fridge at the bottom. This is probably clogged. Remove the gunk out of it, and it should be as good as new. Helen
A water leak from the radiator in to the passenger compartment is usually a sign of a leak in the heater core. If the water is not from the radiator then there may be a leak in a window or door seal, or a hole in the undercarriage that is allowing water from the road to soak the carpet..
The seals on your windows have a leak or in need of replacement.
The seal around the door is bad. When the refrigerator doesn't have a complete seal around the door it allows ambient air to get in. When the compressor runs to the temp average inside, it actually is vacuuming slightly inside the unit and exhaling. Means it is pulling outside air in through the door seal. Moisture in the air condenses inside the refrigerator and puddles on the bottom.
Yes. The refrigerator is set to hold a certain temperature, that's probably cooler than the environment where the fridge is sest. When you open the door, the cold air will leak out, so the fridge will start working to get the temperature down again. If you were to shut the door the temperature inside would drop rather quickly, and the fridge could stop working for awhile. But as long as the door is open, the temperature will remain high and the fridge will keep working. And as long as it's working it will be using up electric energy.
If the leak is by the passenger floor-- could be the heater core check to see if this leak is engine coolant or just water. Could be a leaking windshield seal could be a door seal could be evaporator line is plugged
Always keep raw meat at the bottom of your fridge and covered. This ensures that should the meat leak, it doesn't leak over other foods.
Because there's a leak somewhere. Window and door seals are a likely culprit.
I have a water leak in my 2004 Pontiac Montana between the drivers door and theseat,I was told it is the rubber gasket-that's in the floor, where the water drains, outside the Van,is this going to be a big job to repair???
any leak on your drivers door, or firewall. could be just about anything.
