It is assumed that you will be standing below it to determine the clockwise or counterclockwise direction. This is to avoid confusion when discussing the direction of the air due to the pitch on the blades. Since the pitch is fixed, the only variable left is the rotation direction of the blades.

Depends on the model of the fan. Some fans also have reverse and forward abilities too. So if your fan is going forward and your looking up at it, then it is going counter clockwise.

Does retrograde rotation turn clockwise or counterclockwise?

It could be either. The answer depends on the motion of two different kinds.

What is the clockwise deflection of air in the Northern Hemisphere and the counterclockwise deflection of air in the Southern Hemisphere?

The deflection is to the right of the path of motion of the wind.

What is the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise?

Clockwise and counterclockwise are opposite directions of motion.Clockwise motion (negative mathematical direction) designates circular motion around a pivot point similar to that of the hand of a timepiece - e.g. top, then right, then bottom, then left, then top again.Counterclockwise motion (positive mathematical direction) designates the opposite direction of motion - e.g. top, then left, then bottom, then right, then top again.

Why does Mars revolve in a counterclockwise motion why?

All the planets rotate anticlockwise or counterclockwise, Venus rotates clockwise in "retrograde" rotation.i have read several reasons why,one was an ancient collision,or that it was a rouge planet that entered our solar system.

Which direction does air flow in a cyclone?

Counter-clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere, and clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.

What is the planet that rotates by retrograde motion?

Actually, 3 planets rotate in a retrograde motion, which, by the way, means that they rotate East to West, or in a counterclockwise motion. Most planets rotate in a clockwise direction, or West to East. The three planets that rotate in a retrograde motion are Venus, Uranus and Pluto.venus

What does clockwise and anticlock wise mean?

These are words which describe the direction of circular motion, by referring to the motion of the hands on an analog clock. Basically, if you are proceeding around the circumference of a circle with the interior of the circle on your right-hand side, you are proceeding clockwise. If you have the interior of the circle on your left side, you are proceeding anticlockwise (sometimes also called counterclockwise).

How is cyclone described?

A large-scale, atmospheric wind-and-pressure system characterized by low pressure at its center and by circular wind motion, counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere.

What is the difference between prograde and retrograde?

Prograde motion is a counter-clockwise motion or west to east, retrograde motion is clockwise motion or east to west.

Describe the “clock” direction of surface currents in the Northern Hemisphere.?

The Coriolis effect shifts surface currents by angles of about 45 degrees. In the Northern Hemisphere, ocean currents are deflected to the right, in a clockwise motion. In the Southern Hemisphere, ocean currents are pushed to the left, in a counterclockwise motion.

What is a coliolis effect?

Nothing. However in physics, the Coriolis force is an inertial force that acts on objects that are in motion relative to a rotating reference frame. In a reference frame with clockwise rotation, the force acts to the left of the motion of the object. In one with anticlockwise (or counterclockwise) rotation, the force acts to the right.
