to create fuel
It determines the Mass of the Air Flowing into the engine. The engine computer must know how much air is flowing into the engine to determine how much fuel to inject into the cylinders to get the appropriate fuel-air mixture.

In the combustion chamber of a car the gas must first be atomized, or mixed with oxygen and becomes a mist this is what your fuel injectors or carburetor do. Then it gets compressed by the piston and the spark plug which is at the top of the combustion chamber receives a small electric charge from the battery and it arcs across the gap at the bottom and that spark ignites the atomized fuel creating heat, expansion and exhaust.
The higher the load the more fuel will be used to move that load. The engine must work harder the more weight it must pull. The harder the engine works the more fuel it uses.
You can buy the fuel tanks right from the upgrade panel however, you must buy an engine to use that fuel. To buy an engine click Scrap Yard tab. You must have enough cash and level to buy fuel. Hope this helps.
The engine needs fuel to run. The car needs you to run it.
You can start the fuel injector but is going to do nothing without fuel. Without gasoline being pumped to the injector is will not spray fuel and the engine will not run. Every internal combustion engine must have some sort of fuel pump.
NOBUTHydrogen is an alternative fuel and with all alternative fuel changes must be made to account for the different burn characteristics to ensure the engine will not be harmed.
Oxygen O2
If the vehicle has an electric fuel pump, then no, it runs no matter if the engine is running or not, but it will only run for a few seconds unless the engine is started. However if the pump is mechanical then the engine must be running for the pump to work.
Even though fuel oil is classified as a flammable liquid, most fuels will not burn easily in a liquid state. If you were to drop a lit match in a container of fuel oil, it would PROBABLY go out almost immediately (don't try this!). In order for fuel oil to burn, it must first be transformed from a liquid to a vaporized state ~ atomized. Atomization increases the exposure of the fuel to the oxygen in the air; this promotes combustion.
