epithelium
Membranous tissue composed of one or more layers of cells separated by very little intercellular substance and forming the covering of most internal and external surfaces of the body and its organs.
glandular epithelium
Epithelium made up of cells that produce secretions.

Glandular epithelial cells, also called glands, are specialized epithelial cells that secrete bodily products. There are two types of glands: endocrine and exocrine. Endocrine glands do not contain a duct system and secrete directly into the extracellular fluid (basal side) and move into the vascular system. Exocrine glands have ducts to release products. Secretions are released to the apical cell surface and move out of the ducts to the outside environment. An example of this is sweating, where water is released through exocrine glands to reduce the temperature of the body.
Line body surfaces inside and outside. Male u glands that secrete sweat, enzymes, hormones and milk
Protection, absorption, secretion, filtration and sensory reception
glandular epithelial tissue provides a covering or a lining for some part of the body
function of glandular tissue is secretion
The primary functions of the respiratory epithelium is to humidify, filter, and warm the incoming air during respiration.
it protects the body
In an amphibian, ciliated epithelium cells would be found in the body surface. The main functions include absorption, secretion and protection among others.
Contact inhibition, which is a growth mechanism which functions to keep cells growing into a monolayer ( a layer one cell thick).
pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium

Major functions of epithelium are, protection, absorption, sensation, filtration, secretion and excretion. Also helps in regulation and exchange of chemicals between the underlying tissues and cavities.
Secretion is one of epithelium's major functions. However, if there are microvilli, they are used for absorption. Regular epithelium would be in our skin, and epithelium with microvilli would be in the digestive tract.

Stratified squamous epithelium consists of several layers of cells, which protect the areas of the body It can be found in areas such as the esophagus, mouth, and the outer portion of the skin (epidermis).
Squamous epithelium is also called as the pavement epithelium.
The function of epithelium tissue is mainly to protect the tissues below it from desiccation and radiation. The other functions include secretion of hormones into the blood system and provide sensation.
a type of epithelium found lining the respiratory tract, where it serves to moisten and protect the airways. It also functions as a barrier to potential pathogens and foreign particles, preventing infection and tissue injury by action of themucociliary escalator.
The common eye elements include the cornea, pupil , iris, retina, epithelium, sclera and the lens. All these elements have their specific functions.
