The LT family of engines use a crank-trigger ignition. The distributor cap is located on the front of the engine below the water pump.

The engine will not run with a failed distributor.

It has an opti-spark, which is located on the lower front of the engine, behind the water pump. To have it raplaced by a mechanic may cost you around $1,000.
