It's a PlayStation 3 problem. It's happening to me right now. It won't show up. I'm not quite sure how to fix this but.. Here's what I tried and it worked for everyone else but it didn't work for me:
OPTION 1:
-Turn off your PS3
-Turn it back on but hold the touch button. As usual, when it turns on, it beeps. Keep holding your finger down onto the button. It will beep again. Keep holding. It may turn off but turn it on again. It will be as it turns on and hold your finger down onto the button. Keep holding. It will beep. Keep holding. It will beep twice quickly. When you hear that, let go. A menu will show up. There will be six options. Now this is something YOU will have to choose from. It depends if you want everything erased or not. Select one and it will let you know if things will be deleted permanently or not. NOTE: When they do say that, it is possible that it will be restored. May not happen.
-After you picked one, follow what it tells you. Not much you have to do.
WARNING: When you do this option, it may mess up your PS3. If so, follow option 2.
OPTION 2:
-Turn off your PS3
-Turn it on and it will beep as it turns on. Normal. Keep holding onto the button. Wait for it to beep again. Let go. Wait for your PS3. It will restart. NOTE: This may corrupt your files but it may be restored if your hard drive is there and has a proper user on it.
If none of these options work, contact Sony or continue doing research. Try YouTube.
Hope these options work! :)
there can be a few reasons to this most common one is for the fat ps3 but also happens commonly on the slim range just not as much this is when the laser lens needs cleaning or the laser has simply died this is pretty common and can cause what you are saying.
apart from that the other thing is scratched disc - obviously a problem
and....
and corrupt hdd or software within the ps3 if you read up online you can do a reset and that has fixed cases like this before however it is rare.
PS: Had this problem with 2x ps3 - first case the laser had gone so I bought a new one - second case was just a dirty lens lol
thats all I can say also...... if you do not wish to read that than know this I am now an xbox360 user due to ps3 problems and update problems that killed my friends ps3 :/
Try to clean the disc and if that doesnt work.. buy a new one.
To play a game on your PlayStation 3, start by placing a PlayStation 3 game disc into the disc drive. The name of the game should come up under the "Game" section of the XMB menu. If you are trying to play a downloaded game, it should be underneath the trophy section under "Game." Select the game with the arrow keys on your controller and press "X."
Put the disc in the console correctly. Select the game on the menu.
You put it in the disc tray, close the disc tray, click "Play Game" then when the menu has loaded up click NEW GAME!
To play FF7's disc 2 on the PSP press the home button to bring up a menu while the game is running. This menu should have a disc option allowing you to change discs.
You can purchase and download games from the PlayStation Network, available from the PSP's menu bar.
Yes in options there should be a explicit content option or something. It has to be on the main menu, not in game, and it doesnt work for xbox live/ playstation network/ windows live ETC.
If you have the iPod on disc mode, you should. But if you hold down menu and select, you shouldnt. Holding down menu & select turns off disc mode. If you have the iPod on disc mode, you should. But if you hold down menu and select, you shouldnt. Holding down menu & select turns off disc mode.
You can find information about the Sony PlayStation 3 game console online at the PlayStation website. Once on the page, click on "PS3" in the top navigation menu to bring up the information.
This usually happens if the playstation DVD is not being read correctly. Try cleaning the disc off and try again. If it keeps doing this, you may just have to live with choosing to run the DVD from the browser menu. This also happens if you fail to put a disc in during the loadup sequence.
Not specifically, but you can enter cheats at the name entry, when you start a new game.
This could possibly be due to a scratched disc, if not, then it could have something to do with the inner workings of the PS3. Possibly try different games, if it continues not to work try sending it to Sony for repair or e-mail them this same problem. Hope this helps! =P
