I Have gas floor heater from the 1950s. I am in the middle of a rebuild right now. I went down to a Plumbing supply Co.and they sold me a kit for a $140.00 with all the modern fail safes. I pulled my heater unit out of the floor to work on it (with a small nail pulling bar and a hammer) but you do not have to do that if you get down under the house under the unit two small bolts and guts will swing out and you can take it topside to work on it. The kit had all the important parts and every thing worked. the only down side is that to turn the heater off in the summer and back on in the winter i have to go under the house to do ( that's 2 times a year) I am sure you could buy a Pull switch that could do all of that on the wall of your home. $ here is a list of things in my kit

  • Electro-heat Millivolt Gas Valve (750 mv) #71-502
  • ANS Z21.78
  • CGA 6.20 Comb.Gas Controls
  • LUXPRO PSM30SA THERMOSTAT

what kind of skills do you need to do the job on a one to ten with one being easy I give it a seven.Goodluck,The 2 Hand
