yes it is very normal. you can expect pain and swelling and treat those symptoms as normal, but if you feel very tired after a big bump to the head or faint you require medical attention immediately because you could have a concussion. stay around friends and family after a big bump to the head so they can keep an eye on you!

Ice packs always help with swelling. They even make eye masks for night. You put it in the freezer and when you go to bed you put it over your eyes for the night while your sleeping. Do every night to keep swelling from coming back. My mother used to do this: i know it sounds wierd but it did work. When u get out of the shower, put a very small amount of vasilen on your eye lids and rub it in very well. If your a women, just apply your make up as usual. It helps bring down swelling and gets rid of purple rings around the eyes.
