how about instead of sueing them u just tell them that u didnt shoplift. That way u dont have do go to court and do all that stuff. if that doesnt work then sue
if you didnt do it, deny it, if they cant prove it then they cant do anything about it and if they try, then you can sue.
yes
For the most accurate legal advice pertinent to your particular situation and jurisdiction, you should consult a qualified lawyer in your area, which I am not. If you actually were shoplifting and/or have pled guilty or been found guilty of shoplifting, you may only have a case for the assault, which an attorney would be better able to determine for you with more information. I assume by assault here, though, you actually mean what is called battery under tort law, e.g. any intentional, offensive touching. Assault is the threat of battery. As for the accusation, if you were not found to be actually shoplifting and so the accusation was false, you may be able to sue the company for slander. If you were detained by the company, you may also be able to sue for false imprisonment.

Yes, since if you are accused of something the you didn't do, that is slander. If it is serious, you can even choose to sue he/she.
Yes. You can sue someone who has falsely accused you of theft. Whether or not you should sue someone who has falsely accused you of theft depends on a number of circumstances. It depends on how the accusations started, the conditions under which they occurred, how far the accusations got, and what the law says. In Florida, if a merchant catches you shoplifting and you dispose of the property before the cops come, you can not sue under the law. If you bring a lawsuit, you lose your $250 for bringing the case to court. You paid $250 to hear the judge say, "Case dismissed."
yes if you know the pedestrian... and if you didnt know that your an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go to the courthouse and sue for slander.
No not really....if they were too late or didnt show up, they probably didnt get the call.
Laws cannot protect someone from being falsely accused. After an accusation has been made, you may be able to sue someone for defamation of character.
(in the US) Anyone can sue anybody for anything. You can try if you wish, but just because they failed to show up in court doesn't necessarily mean that they don't still have the evidence that you actually committed the crime.
Yes. You can file a suit in civil court.
