Ishbel Morrison, known to many as "Maurie." She came to America from Ballalan, near Stornoway, Scotland. After she left service for the Sims family, she bought a home in the center of Nelson, N.H., and started a residential home for emotionally troubled children. She also is the author of "The Knot of Love." She passed away in the early 1980s and is buried in Nelson. Her headstone includes only her name, dates of her life, and "John 3:16"
