The English were treated by suspicion by the natives of Canada when they first came to Canada. They were not readily accepted by the natives and did not have land for their own.
Indians. Indians are what the europeans called the natives when they first met in the tundra region Canada.
When the Brits and the French moved to Canada. Actually, when the natives crossed the berring straight.
First Nations or natives.
There are about 50 ethnic groups in Canada.
Unfortunately, there are hostile people in every society at any given time. Most of the time, these hostile people are native to where you find them. In the US, we have prisons full of people hostile to their fellow citizens and to society in general. There are also many of these hostile natives walking our streets that should be in prisons. In addition, the US is home to many diverse groups that are hostile to one aspect or another of US society, US government, religion, or specific groups of people (people who are not 'like' us). As long as people need to lock their doors, use security systems, maintain law enforcement agencies, it is evidence that there are still hostile natives among us.
Spain, France, and the Netherlands
The natives called it Kanata but when the Europeans came to Kanata they thought they where saying Canada
They have different histories and handle conflicts differently. Canada tends to avoid conflicts by giving money, land and special status, even when Natives use violence. Canada's history with natives have less violence. The US also gives money and special status but seems to have less tolerance for violence. The American history has more violence so that may be part of the reason.
