In one of the hundreds of results there should be a note on the gs ball glitch in the pokemon gold US version when tuning into the weird broadcast at the lake of rage before talking to Lance and staying tuned throughout the entir ordeal with team rocket until Lance gives you the HM. I did it in 2009 and it worked like a charm. I don't remember all the details, though, but Lance gives you the HM and the gs ball. You take the GS ball to Kurt and a day later... Bingo! Celebi event!
