BC Stands for Before Christ, And although AD is commonly thought to stand for After Death, It Does in fact stand for a latin term.. 'Anno Domini' meaning In the year of our lord.
The purpose of the BC/AD system was to make the birth of Jesus Christ the dividing point of world history. However a mistake that was later discovered that Jesus was actually Born in the year 4.AD .. SO in fact AD started 4 years AFTER Jesus Christ was born.
AD started 2010 years ago. It is now 2010, if Jesus were alive he would be 2014 years old.
