Had to replace AC adapter for dell laptop latitude d400 with a universal adapter--but when plugging it in --it does not work Do you need to do any configuration?
DELL AC Adapters are manufactured with ID chips. The Laptop communicates with the AC adapter to find out the type and power rating. When the AC power adapter doesn't answer it doesn't charge the laptop battery.
