None or P = Philadelphia
S = San Francisco
D = Denver
O = New Orleans
CC = Carson City
Locations are:
Capped Bust - above the date (1838 and 1839 only). None or O
Seated Liberty - under the eagle. None, D, O, S, CC
Barber - under the eagle. None, D, O, S, CC
Walking Liberty - 1916 and some 1917, on the front under In God We Trust. None, D, S
Walking Liberty - some 1917 and all others, on the back around the 8:00 position.
Franklin - above the bell yoke. None, D, S.
Kennedy - 1964, on the back near the eagle's claw on the left side of the coin.
1965-67 - no mint marks due to the coin shortage.
1968-1979 - above the date; none, D, S
1980-present - above the date; P, D, S
The US mint did not use mint marks on the 1965 half dollar coin.
Nowhere. No U.S. coins dated 1965, '66, or '67 have any mint marks.
Assuming no mint marks, retail values are $18.00 to $20.00 in average circulated condition. A 1935 Liberty Walking half dollar is a common coin.

Yes the Denver mint did strike half dollars that year and so did San Francisco in proof only. 1976 half dollars made at Philadelphia don't have mint marks; the "P" didn't appear on halves until 1980.

The first Half dollar with any mint mark was from the New Orleans Mint in 1838.The mint mark is on the reverse under the eagle

That's half DOLLAR, just like it's spelled on the coin. Also there could not be a D mint mark half from 1896 because the Denver Mint didn't open until 1906. See the Related Question for more information about values and mint marks.
