What is the difference between Samoa then and now?

Samoa then is a pecefull and laid back atmosphere, when the colonization of NewZealand/Western and Americans/American Samoa, samoans and the Fa'a Samoa is lost due to the introduction of gambling and alcohol. Samoans tend to be more aggressive in a way that their warrior soul is used in a wrong way, corrupted by the new environment, the power of the MALIETOA TANUMAFILI that ruled SAMOA peacefully has been gone. Rummor has it that his lost half-breed grandson Prince Chowhoo Tangaroa Tumupu(Boy from the sea sent by the God of War) born of an islander palagi from the islands of CEBU is the key to Samoa's peace and harmony as he was thought by the late Malietoa the old ways of Samoans and the sacred art of pe'a tatau. They say he fled away as he went heart broken when he saw the people turned into westerners rather than warriors. He is believed to be seen in the mainland (California/Maryland/Washington/NewYork) living like an ordinary people, as he possess a humble heart but a very sharp and intelligent individual. People less know of him but deep inside him is a master of every kind of hand to hand combat, jungle warfare and a power of the mana taught and passed from the elders. If only we can locate this Malietoa prince and bring fa'a Samoa back to the people. Then is better than now.

That's a pretty broad question but I'll do my best... :)

Short answer, YES Samoa has definetly changed since the earlier days. Samoa, like any other country in the world is changing everyday. Technology, infrastructure, lifestyle. Just look up any tourism website on Samoa and you'll find that Samoa has broadband internet, numerous mobile phone services, new buildings are going up everywhere and reclaimed land is being used to house new buildings and houses.

Samoa is a developing country, yes, but its definetly keeping up with the times!
