In November 2013, the State of Acre, Brazil and the western half of the State of Amazonas, Brazil switched from UTC-4 to UTC-5. They are now on the same time as Peru, Colombia and Ecuador.

Haiti started observing Daylight Saving Time in 2012.

At the end of 2011, Samoa and New Zealand's Tokelau Islands moved the International Date Line from west of the islands to east of them. In other words, they changed their time zone from UTC-11 to UTC+13. The International Date Line now passes between Samoa and American Samoa.
