Why are some questions on maplin electronics never answered?
Any person can answer a question on WikiAnswers, and the answer may be a good one or a poor one. If a question on Maplin Electronics is not being answered on this site it is because nobody using the site has an answer yet.
If you asked a question on WikiAnswers and it doesn't get answered can you ask it again?
If it does not get answered, you just have to wait. If you do ask again,( which is not recommended) it will not get your answer any faster. If your question was spammed, or just plain nonsense, then your question would have been deleted, and it will never have been answered.
How do I post an answer on this site without editing someone else's answer?
The only way you can do that is to answer a question that has not yet been answered. You can look under Site Tools for Featured Questions, or you can look under any category at the Unanswered Questions.

What is the point of having a question on this site and not having an answer?
This site is a forum - not a 'live' site (like a chatroom). If you have a question - you can post it to the community - BUT - you need to wait for someone to actually read your question before it can be answered ! There are millions of people using WikiAnswers that can answer almost any question posted - you just need to learn to be patient ! If you need an 'instant' answer - you would be better off asking your question in a live chatroom - BUT - the right person may never see the question if they're not on-line when you are ! At least with a forum - once the question is posted it remains on the site until it's been answered.
Are the questions answered by delegates in WikiAnswers supervised before being sent to the person who was asking the question?
No. Changes made on this site happen immediately. There is no moderation between the time they are answered and the time they are alive on the site. Any supervisor activity occurs after they are answered.

Yes, I just answered yours. Questions are answered all the time. Except for questions that are worded so poorly that it is impossible to provide an answer.

Yes, some people answer their own questions on the site. As long as a question is answered properly, any answer is valid no matter whether it was your question or not.

Not all questions are answered on the site, however for help on how to answer a question, see the related link below. All the time questions and answers come through on the site, and it would be impossible to get all the questions answered at any one time.
How do you know if someone has answered your question how will you be notified?
If you asked the question while you were logged in, you will be notified by e-mail that your question has been answered. When you ask a question, it is automatically placed in your watchlist. If you ask a question and it's already on Answers.com, but isn't answered, you can follow that question by clicking "Follow" in the blue column to the left of the question. There are questions that have not been answered here just like your question that has not been answered until now, by me. If you look up a question that you do not have the answer to on this website, and it has been answered, underneath it is usually a little section titled Can you Answer These Questions? And that section will have several links under it that go to questions you can answer. The alternative is that the question you have asked does not have an answer, in which case the website will ask you Is your question One of These? Underneath that will be another list of links. On that list there are usually a few unanswered questions which have the word Unanswered written after them in light grey. I hope this has helped! :)
