You should receive a email when the question is answered. You could also type the same question in and your original question should come up. You might consider if the original question needs to be worded differently.

If you are having a conversation with someone and they ask a question you don't know the answer to, just tell them you don't know the answer. You could suggest someone who might know the answer or go look for the answer in reference materials. If you are asking about Answers.com and WikiAnswer.com, you should just leave the question blank. That way someone who does know the answer will be more likely to see the question and answer it. If you want to know when the question has been answered, you can add it to your Watchlist.
