Has anyone had a problem with the computer on the anti-theft sys. on a 1998 gls cutlass to where it would cut off the fuel supply to keep the car from starting?

I have a 97 Cutlass GLS and the problem was actually the ignition key. Even the dealer did not know this. I was lucky and one of my two keys works fine.

I don't have an answer yet but I do know that the antitheft works to interrupt the power to the fuel pump. Mine has just started coming on at random times so I will be doing some more trouble shooting to find the problem and the cure. I have the same problem with my acheiva because of disconnecting the battery for cleaning. One way to turn it off is to turn the car on (but not crank it) and then take the key out while all the doors are locked.
Why do you have to unhook positive battery cable and rehook to get car started?
The only thing this will do is to rest the computer. Problem doesn't exist in starting or charging system, have computer checked.
