I have a 97 Cutlass GLS and the problem was actually the ignition key. Even the dealer did not know this. I was lucky and one of my two keys works fine.
It means that you need to get the cars computer scanned to find out what the problem is.

no this is not a computer problem.it is either a starter motor problem or the ring gear on flywheel is worn

I don't have an answer yet but I do know that the antitheft works to interrupt the power to the fuel pump. Mine has just started coming on at random times so I will be doing some more trouble shooting to find the problem and the cure. I have the same problem with my acheiva because of disconnecting the battery for cleaning. One way to turn it off is to turn the car on (but not crank it) and then take the key out while all the doors are locked.
The only thing this will do is to rest the computer. Problem doesn't exist in starting or charging system, have computer checked.
The computer has sensed a problem in the supplemental restraint system.
It means there are two "computer name" are same on your network. To solve this problem Go to My computer's properties then click on computer name then click on "Change" and change your Computer name like server, client, mycomputer etc. click on Ok. The system ask you to restart your computer, click on yes and restart your computer. Your problem is solved.
It probably needs freon. 99% of the time that's the problem..
