The product Happy Jack's recommends as symptoms reoccur or every 2-4 weeks. I've been using it weekly and my dog has improved greatly since starting this regimen 4 weeks ago. He had a bad case and I believe another bottle round will finally eradicate it.

I prefer to use a special shampoo for small animals think it is by Johnson and Johnson the one i use it is very mild and safe to use on guinea pigs. never use human, dog or cat shampoos on guinea pigs.

Male rats will get "buck grease" and so will need to be bathed. Baby shampoo or kitten shampoo. Uuhh...just beware, expect plenty of claw marks, they hate water =D Even though rats will groom and clean themselves, it is ok to bath with an appoved rodent shampoo. no they dont they clean themselves just like cats do Pet rats from a store do not carry diseases. The above poster is correct in saying they groom themselves like a cat. I have only bathed my cat once when she fell into some oil. Thanks heavens she loves water! LOL
They bathed like anyone else. Some tribal rituals involved bathing, normally a morning ritual (performed every morning).
Guinea pigs shouldn't be bathed too often but you can buy a small animal shampoo from a pet supply store and bathe them in a sink with warm water.
