Yes in 2001, Chris Jericho defeated both The Rock for the World Heavyweight Championship and Stone Cold Steve Austin for his WWF Championship on the same night to become the first wrestler to hold both championships at the same time, which made him the first WWF Undisputed Champion. He fought both of the men he defeated at Vengeance on separate occasions and retained his title at the next two pay-per-views, Royal Rumble 2002 (vs. The Rock) and No Way Out 2002 (vs. Stone Cold).

Jericho lost the title to Triple H in the main event of Wrestlemania X8. Making Triple H, the second ever Undisputed Champion. After his title loss, Jericho became a member of the Smackdown roster and continued his feud with Triple H. Jericho helped cost Triple H his newly won Undisputed Championship at Backlash to Hollywood Hulk Hogan. The title would go on to be held by The Undertaker, The Rock, and finally Brock Lesnar.

And just for an extra piece of history, On May 29 2006, Rob Van Dam was selected by Paul Heyman to be drafted from Raw to WWE's new revived ECW brand. At One Night Stand'06, Rob Van Dam defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship, his first ever World Title. After two referees were knocked out, Edge appeared from the crowd to attack Cena, spearing him through a table. Van Dam then hit a Five Star Frog Splash and the pinfall was counted by Paul Heyman, who suddenly ran down the aisle. On the following episode of Raw, Vince McMahon confirmed that the title change was official, due to the match being held under "extreme rules". For the past few weeks, Heyman had hinted that the WWE Championship would be "rechristened" the ECW Heavyweight Championship when Van Dam won. On the debut of ECW on Sci Fi, Van Dam was awarded the reinstated ECW World Championship by Heyman. Van Dam, however, decided to defend the WWE Championship separately and simultaneously, joking that "this one spins". Thus, Van Dam became the first wrestler in history to hold both the WWE Championship and the ECW World Championship, and the only one to hold them at the same time.
