Not standard.
Rear diff does require friction modifier.
will a92 cherokee diff fit in a 99 cherokee
It could be. No way to tell with out vin number, or seeing axle.
your local jeep dealer should know this just bring in your VIN and they can bring up your vehicles specs
yes, my 1982 jeep has a gov-lock rear so that if one tire spins, the other locks.
The fluid is checked through the plug on the rear cover.
Look your diff seal...and check the oil in the diff...
for the oil pan it looks like the head of a bolt on the back of the oil pan, for a diff it is a headless bolt that a 3/8 ratchet fits in w/o socket on front of the diff
It depends on which setting you select. 4 Part Time is basically rear wheel drive with the center diff acting as a limited slip diff. 4 Full Time is kind of like AWD, and suitable for every day driving. 4 Lo is only for off-road use.
The diff lock is switched or stuck on, when you turn the outside wheels have to travel further than the inside ones, the diff lock stops this happening and can damage the car if used like this on tarmack, only use the diff lock if you are off road and in difficulty of losing traction.
You have to remove the brakes, rotors, wheel hubs, axle shafts, diff cover, and differential carrier, seals are on the inside of the axle tubes.
