Tropical storms and hurricanes are named in alphabetical order, and only one year has ever made it to the letter V. That was in 2005 when there was a Hurricane Vince. The next chance of there being a tropical storm or hurricane named Vicky will be in 2014.
Sort of. There was a Severe Tropical Cyclone Ian (essentially the same thing as a hurricane) in the Indian Ocean in 1992. it struck Australia. The name Ian, as also replace Igor on the list of Atlantic hurricane names and will be up for use in the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season.

There was a Hurricane Todd in the Pacific in 1998 off the coast of China, but that is it, no Atlantic Hurricane or storm has ever been named Todd. Part of the curse of our name being so far down the alphabetic list
