One possibility is a very early pregnancy and implantation bleeding. You need to get a test to see if you really are pregnant because sometimes a deep wish for a child can bring on a phantom pregnancy.(All signs except missed periods). Another possibility is that you can continue to have light periods in the first trimester which makes it a bit harder to know how far on you are. I had this myself and was five months with my first child before I could even get a positive test. She was born perfectly healthy all the same.
