#1 cylinder is on the left of the engine as you are facing it from the front.
A circular base if facing downward. A circular face if facing to the sides.
Driver side or on the right side if you are facing the car far back cylinder
It is hard to see but it is on top of the block facing upwards and is written facing backwards, right next to the edge of the cylinder head above no3 cylinder. Hope this helps.
The number 5 cylinder is the third from the front on the right side as facing the engine from the front of the vehicle.
A barrel head is the top flat side of a barrel. Picture a sea port and a ship is delivering barrels of salt or tar or some other item. The seller and the buyer stand facing each other with a barrel between them and strike a deal. The cash is put on the barrel, the seller takes the cash and the buyer takes the barrel after he paid for it "on the barrel head".
Facing the front of the car it will be to your left and the second cylinder from the front to the rear. Ford number their cylinder 1234 on the right side and 5678 on the left side of the vehicle so if youre facing the front it would be as I told you opposite because now youre looking back.
As you are facing the Front of the engine they are: Leftside 1,2,3,4Rightside 5,6,7,8
You can find it next to the oxygen wire harness, sticking out of the cylinder head (right side of the engine when you are facing it).
On 4 cylinder you can find it on the side of the engine facing the firewall.
Facing your engine, on the right side and closest to the radiator.
If you are facing the front of the engine 1 is the cylinder closes to you on the left then 2 behind that then 3 and after that it is 4, on the right side it goes 5,6,7,8.
