I can't see how adding more forage to a horse's gastrointestinal tract when it is not functioning properly would help anything. Colic in horses is a clinical sign, not a diagnosis - it simply means abdominal pain and could be due to anything. Depending upon the cause, there are several validated and effective methods to treat colic - mineral oil, fluids and hand-walking for hours, surgical intervention, etc. There is no evidence that Trichantera gigantea leaves would do anything but make the horse more sick and increase the risk of an intestinal rupture or strangulation.
