The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) does not have death squads. The Church does not have laws of death either.
In the past, there was an oath taken by some Mormons in a particular temple ceremony in which a person would agree that if they were to break a covenant, they could be punished with death. This did not mean that the church or an agent of the church would murder them, but that God would cause their death to occur. This was taken out of the temple ceremony decades ago, although Mormons, like many Christians, do believe that God could cause someone to die as a punishment for their sins.

Nothing is gratis. God didn't offer a covenant to Abraham until Abraham took the initial step of serving God superlatively, for decades, against ridicule and personal danger. See the attached Link for more detail. When Abraham had shown himself worthy, God made two covenants with him, not one.1) In Genesis ch.15, the Covenant Between the Parts:a) God informs Abraham of future events (the Egyptian exile)b) God promises the land of Canaan (Israel) to Abraham's descendantsc) The covenant is finalized through a demonstration of God's presence (see Genesis 15:7-9 and 15:17).2) In Genesis ch.17, the covenant of circumcision:a) The promises of many descendants (17:2,3) and of inheriting the land of Canaan are repeated (17:8), but the main thing in this covenant is the promise that God will be the God of Abraham (17:7, 17:8).b) God promises that Abraham and Sarah will have a son (17:15-16), whom they will name Isaac (17:19) and who will be the continuation of God's covenant with Abraham (17:21).c) The covenant itself is manifested through circumcision, for Abraham and his descendants (17:10).
4.5 decades equals 4.5 decades!
It is 20/100, which can be simplified, if required.
No, you don't need a hyphen. It would be 10 decades or ten decades.
God created the world for righteousness, not just for eating, going to work and sleeping. There were righteous people before Abraham's time, but not one of them came near to his superlative level of piety (Talmud, Avot ch.5). Only after Abraham had served God for many decades, did God speak to him and bring him into His covenant.See also the Related Links.1) A biography of Abraham2) Jewish history timeline
